• If you do not know if you've had chickenpox or been vaccinated, you should have a test to see if you are immune.
• If you're not immune, you must: o Avoid contact with patients at high risk for 8-21 days after contact.
• report to the health of the patient before you contact if you feel unwell or develop fever or rash.
• Get vaccinated against the varicella zoster virus (chickenpox).
